I was reading in the Nvidia forums and a user in there claims his 9600GT cards in SLI are faster than 8800GTS G92 cards running in SLI...Is there any charts or comparisons out there anyone knows of that show this to be true???

It's not faster but 9600gt does scale a little better than 8800gt. Probably because Nvidia optimized 9600gt more or it could be hardware sli bridge that might have been tweaked. No one knows except for Nvidia.

g92 8800gt has far higher overclock headroom, so when overclocked, it still beat 9600gt overclocked, sli or not.
