At work I bring my own music and pictures on my own personal USB HDD which I attach to my work laptop. How can I prevent anyone on the network from scanning or gaining access to the files of this portable HDD? I dont have it shared. Is this even possible? We use Windows XP Pro at work and the portable HDD uses the FAT32 file system. Any and all help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Xp can use Fat32 file systems, but they can't run directly on them. Thou If your files are not shared they won't be able to easily access them without a special program or a hack tool, so you should be ok
