How do I overclock my CPU

I am about to build my new computer and I keep hearing about overclocking my CPU, but I have no clue how to do this.

My new computer parts:

ok, for one, why do you need the bluray burner? so expensive. 2: psu is way over what you need to power that system. you will also need a case, possibly OS, monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse, but if you already have them then thats ok...

as for overclocking, do you know how to overclock a P4 or core 2? if so, then i7 overclocking is apparently verrrry simple compared to core 2. pm roadrunner if you want to know specifics, he has already built and oc'd a rig... google before you do though, we don't want to bother him unnecessarily do we ;)

I have the antec 900 with 5 fans in it. I have 2 monitors 30in and 22in, got windows vista and i have all the little things, I just posted the main stuff. I never overclocked anything. And i have the bluray player it isnt a burner.

Yea I am a online poker player so I spend a lot of time at my computer and watch lots of movies and tv shows and the bluray was like 120 or something.

increase the FSB in increments of 5 and test each time, if you are stable then increase again. run stress tests like memtest86 (from boot) and OCCT & prime95 from with in windows.

5? wtf. only if you're ocing within the windows environment... i go up in increments of 30 or so (200, 233, 266, 300,333,366,400) and drop the multi accordingly. higher fsb+lower multi=more performance than low fsb+higher multi - more RAM bandwidth :D

I never do it from within windows, always from within the BIOS the same goes for flashing the BIOS always from the BIOS. I have see some dodgyness from with in windows

I mean I use the asus ez flash utillity (on my mobo anyway) you go into the bios a select it and it reads the new bios of a usb drive and flashes it.
