Hi all, I'm new to the forums but not to Tom's Hardware.

Just wondering - what's the best micro-ATX mobo which supports e6600 conroe/e6700?

Probably the Gigabyte G33M-DS2R or G33M-S2H, neither of which have been available for months now on Newegg. The nVidia GeForce 7100/7150 boards are also really nice, but they are only single channel ram, and have a maximum capacity of 4GB. Any G33 board is as good as you can do currently (crappy Intel IGP, but decent everything-else). The G35 board (Asus) is not worth it, don't waste $140 on that thing.
