hello everyone,

I would like a second pc and use that one to have my own game-server pc.
My question is: what components are important and which is not.

Anyone have a sugestion of a server pc to, only have a game server on it ?

What you need depends on how many players, what's being routed through and processed by the server. Load can vary greatly from game to game. For most, it doesn't need to be as powerful as typical web servers. Of course, like web servers, you's need good cpu, fast hdd and lots of ram. Gpu is not important.

First things first which games will you be running? be sure they have a server edition and pay attention to their requirements - Now settle for a budget and you'll have a much better idea :)

Well, for a game server, I know that CPU and memory are important. VGA cards dont matter though. Do you know if the app you use to host the games is mulithreaded?
