Hello,
I had my Computer built in Dec. of 2002 and it has an ASUS P4B533 Motherboard w/ 1 AGP slot w/ a Siluro GF4 TI 4600 128 MB Nvidia video Card. On my Bday I got Call of Duty 4 and it says I need at least a Nvidia Geforce 6600 or better so I go on Ebay and hunt around and see that there are AGP 1x,2x,4x, and 8x. I asked those on Ebay and they were of little help/knowledge and said I had to get a card just like mine but there were no 1x/2x new cards out there...they were all AGP 8x. CAN I USE AN AGP 8X CARD? Sorry if this has been asked 1000 times but I am watching my twins and have read for a few hours and need a definitive answer from someone that knows.

Thanks in advance,
Scott :ange:

Just searched your board and it seems its a X4 board so you should be able to use a X8 card in it assuming this is your board http://www.serpentinemagoo88.biz/servlet/the-117/ASUS-P4B533-dsh-M-S478-MB/Detail.
This may b eusefull to you in explaining compatability. http://www.playtool.com/pages/agpcompat/agp.html
Mactronix.

READ THIS FIRST (specificly Versions of AGP)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerated_Graphics_Port

Check your motherboard (you have to uninstall the graphics card).
If the AGP slot has a 1.5V key it should be capable of runing an AGP 8X card.

If it doesn't have the 1.5V key, I found a review of this board here
http://www.computingondemand.com/reviews/mainboards-asus-p4b533/asus-p4b533-1.shtml
and they were runing a Radeon 9700 Pro on it.
If this is indeed your board you could try finding a 9700 Pro (ebay) but I don't know if it will run your game.

Good luck.

Well I pulled my computer apart and checked and it appears that I have a 1.5v key. So I guess I'm in business.

Thanks for all the help,
Scott

look for the ATI 3850 AGP card if yo want the best you can get--it will be pricey, but for around $110 you can get a 2600XT that will do you some justice of the old system.
