I was thinking of going water cooling on my system and wanted everything internal. Was planning to run a 120X2 radiator on top. However, due to the heatsinks on my 790i motherboard, i would not be able to fit a fan on one of the 120mm fan spots on the radiator. Would two 120radiators (one on back of case one on top) be enough to cool a q9550 with a decent overclock? (maybe a .1 or .2 over 3) If so should the loop just go from one radiator to the next then back through the system?
Also, in the future i might be interested in liquid cooling a 9800 gx2 (no overclock) just to reduce noise. Would that setup be enough?
I'll steer you to some more technical links, please spend a few days (DAYS) reading posts, searching, learning. Don't forget to look for your case with WC. Google your case and the word watercool or some combination of that. WC stuff is larger than you think, I know from experience. WC setups done right are awesome and almost silent.
I'd rather peeps learn on their own than us spending post after post answering easy questions being a personal saleman/helper. And ya know this place isn't the place to learn about WC.
Took me 3 months to decide what I wanted and how to do it, posted my build list, got some ideas and did it. I didn't have to worry. It's not like buying a new DVD player at Best Buy.
Thanks for the links Conumdrum. I looked through those about a week ago and its through those that actually turned me toward WC more. believe me I've been looking all across the web for about a few weeks now. I had my mind set up with a simple 2x120 setup but after receiving the case and installing the parts i realized it wouldn't fit. Just curious on your guys opinions on whether two singles would still be viable.

If you add the GPU you'll need a bigger rad than the two 120x1 sizes. So might as well go 120x3 to start. If it don't fit, well cut the case, make it fit. Or out the back like many do, or buy a monster case.
The links I gave has all the info on heat sources, billions of posts, tests, discussions. Took me 3 months to work out my plan.
Its a decent idea to start with a 3x120 rad anyway, you are more than likely going to do one of 2 things:
1) overclock your CPU which will need a little better cooling
2) add another block which will result in more heat dumping into your system.
If you never, ever plan to do anything more than your intial WC install (its often said, but rarely done) you can do a 2x120. But, once you get started, its really hard to stop...you always want to do more. That's what happened to me. Now, most of my stuff is mounted on the outside of my case...
Edit: If you are wanting to WC your GX2, you will need at least the surface area of a 3x120...I would suggest the area of 4x120...or dual 2x120 rads. Those GX2's pump out a lot of heat.

Thanks a lot Conumdrum and Rubix for the help. I'll probably end up running a 2x120 rad for my cpu loop. Then later ill upgrade that to the double 2x120 for a GPU+CPU.
They work quite well, too, I must add. I have my NB and 9800GTX in the loop as well.
