I wish I had the money to spend on that type of a computer.  It will play pretty much every game out there at max - max settings except for Crysis, which will still run on high (yea, only!)  If you feel comfortable overclocking, you should be able to get to 3 GHz+.  Great build.  I see you call yourself a "n00b" but most noobs would have picked a crappy PSU.  That's a nice one you have there.

umm if you have extra money instead of the 3870x2 get th 9800gx2.

Looks good to me.  Check the charts to see which card plays the games you like the best.  Personally I'd stick with the 3870X2.  The 9800GX2 is just too expensive for my tastes.  It is faster though.

Great I'm glad you guys like it.

I'm not actually sure the 9800GX2 is available in Australia.. And even though I really would prefer to go Nvidia I'm sure the ATI card won't disappoint.

Anyway.. the PC has been ordered now. Thanks guys!

Yep, they're availble in Australia.  Inno3D for RRP $899.00, but I've seen some as low as $799.00 plus postage.  For some of those readers residing in North America, that price is in Australian Dollars (ie Yen).

Oh well in that case I'm definitely glad I spent $575 on the ATi card.

I have to say the Q6600 is the best choice for an overclockable quad core right now, but I prefer the Phenom 9850 (if I said more, I'd be repeating myself and get flamed LOL). Everything else looks good, but the case. I'm really partial to the Antec Nine Hundred myself. It really cools well.

People might say get a Wolfie since most games don't support quad cores yet, but I expect more will by the end of the year. Even if you plan on getting a Nehalem with a new board in 12 months, I think you've made good choices.

If you can wait a couple of more months, the 4870x2 is supposed to be out in June, according to Nordic Hardware. A 4870 is expected to be as fast as a 3870x2, so the 4870x2 should be a winner.
