I have an AMD 6000+ CPU. I have now just returned my 3rd ASUS MB Micro ATX MB in a row. Every single one made this incredibly annoying high-pitched "dog whistle" sound (like a bad capacitor) when I tried to run the computer.
What gives? I had always heard ASUS was so great and I like their BIOS, but am having zero luck. I finally broke down and bought and ECS MB thinking that maybe it was just my CPU that had gone bad, but no, it was def the MB. This ECS MB is totally silent.
I am looking to maybe upgrade to a 780G chipset and wanted to give ASUS another try, but I'm gunshy at this point.

Hahah Gigabyte was right and they are using crappy capacitors! I've always bought ASUS though and never had problems before, I think my next motherboard shall be a gigabyte.
Was the PCI-E power connector plugged into the GPU during these tests?
What mobo was it? Did it have an additional molex power connector on it? Was that connector plugged in?

There is ALWAYS a drone. Exactly where, or how many drones you will encounter may vary, but that there will be at least one will not.
