I am new to building pc's. I purchased a video card that is SLI ready but I have no intentions of running anything more than one video card. Since this is SLI ready will it work on intel X48 chipset motherboards that are Crossfire ready? Thanks for everyones help!

Yes, it will work.

I think it would be a good idea if you told us more. What is your budget, what kind of monitor do you have, what do you want your new PC to do, what country are you in?

It will work just fine. It just means unless you get an SLI chipset you can't use daul graphics unless you get dual ATI cards in Crossfire. In your case with a single card there's no problem at all.
