I have the (USB) HP dvd movie writer dc3000 (300n). Install under win xp home edition. It is listed in device mngr correctly and in my computer. All needed software is installed including any updates. recently it stop reading/writeing. It used dvd+r media etc. Whats up? are the lenses shot? if so how to check? Any known conflicks currently?

DVD-burners break easily, just buy a new one for 25 euro. LG/Lite-On/Samsung are the usual brands.
