I was wondering if anybody could tell me if this 700W thermaltake power supply that i got will be enough for my system. My system is: 9800gx2 bfgtech, intel q9450(quad-core), with the Asus Striker extreme 2 Mobo, 2gb OCZ 1600 ddr3 ram, 1 HDD, 1 DVD/CD RW, and then about 5 120mm fans or so for air cooling.
I ran the numbers for what you listed through eXtreme.outervision's PSU calculator and added a sound card and 56k modem, along with 20% capacitor aging for good measure and came up with 415wts. Even adding another 20% for unexpected overhead would be less than 500wts, so your 700wt Thermaltake PSU should be plenty. My last computer used a TT Toughpower 700wt with an SLI setup with no problem at all, and it had more hardware than you list. So I'd guess that you should be fine.

you should be ok. the only concern i would have is whether the psu will get noisy when you consume a lot of power (gaming). my vx550 spooled up pretty loud when i play cod4 (6400X2, 3870x2). To solve that, I purchased a secondary 5 1/4" psu. Its made by ultra and supports sata, regular molex, 1x6 and 1x8 pcie. That did the trick. Psu cost $50 so it was a great buy imo.
