I recently won the Intel bundle and got a Q6700 quad core CPU. since im still using my old 939 socket 4400+ X2 I was thinking of dropping it into my system. the problem is I would need to get a new motherboard and I am not really sure what is that good for an older CPU anymore. I was planning on upgrading when Intel introduced Nehalem but if I do that then I will still end up using the CPU for another pc and would want a decent motherboard for it.

Any thoughts on what a decent motherboard would be and if it is even worth it to actually upgrade my own PC this close to Nehalem?

Since affordable Nehalem is probably a year or more away, I'd upgrade. Get a nice Gigabyte P35-based motherboard.

Well price doesn't matter to much. I would be willing to spend $300 on a motherboard and up to $500 just for the CPU. I would only have to replace those 2 parts along with my ram so it's not a major issue.

Right now I am just trying to find a decent motherboard that I can OC pretty well but I can't find any reviews for whats currently available for a P35 board.
