Hi I'm new to this forum and I am thinking about buying a 9600GT or a 8800GTS 320mb.

The thing I am wondering is that the 9600GT is PCI-E 2.0 and my motherboard is kind of old (Emachines T6212) and when I bought it said it was just PCI-E. Will I even be able to use a 9600GT with my computer?

Yes you can, although your PSU may (or may not) be of greater concern.

ok thats good that I can use it. Is my system going to be taking advantage of PCIE 2.0 or is it going to run like PCIE 1.0? also which card is better: 9600GT or 8800GTS 320mb OC?

I don't think you will be able to tell the differance between 1.0 and 2.0. Unless your a benchmarkaholic.

It will run like PCI-E 1.0, but there won't be much, if any, performance difference. The 9600GT is better. Like Mousemonkey said though, your power supply may be of some concern.

Your system will run at Pci-e 1.0 and out of those two I'd go for the 8800GT (G92).

says you have an x16 slot, but hopefully you have a bit more ram than it came with stock. Any card should work fine if you have the power for it.
