This Eric P guy really needs to get a life...Obviously watching too much television...
This whole episode even overtakes the topic and what it was origionally about....
I cant see there never being a processor, as its all down to the fact that Its what makes everything talk to each other...

No one's crazy enough to talk about the end of the processor, what Nvidia, Intel and AMD are all trying to do it make the CPU and GPU one and same thing, by making a CPU that acts as a GPU and a GPU that acts like a CPU. *Edit* (It's a little more complicated than that but that's the simple explanation)

lol i love the skit but the other guys was right they're just trying to combine the two so that cpu acts as a gpu when video crap is enabled but it still acts like a cpu when it does cpu crap.

Interesting posturing... but the reality is that we're not likely to see the sort of convergence NVidia and Intel are talking about for quite a while.
If and when this sort of processing becomes widely available, Intel will most likely be the prime mover... NVidia lacks the breadth to seriously play in that sandbox. To put it another way... Intel is YEARS ahead of NVidia, with 45nm deployed they're on the bleeding edge (where Processors have perennially lived), GPU's on the other hand are a generation behind... and you don't make up that sort of a gap overnight.
If Intel decided they wanted to be a GPU player they could be (they'd just have to put more resources into their already existing business)... the same can not be said of NVidia being a CPU manufacturer.
unless nvidia bought VIA! lets all petition to have VIA be sold to nvidia. than DAAMIT and NAVIDIA can both make this magical CPU/GPU hybrid and Intel will than be screwed. Unless they by the other department of VIA the S-Chrome! than INTELVIA can play with the big boys and than we'd all just wait for armageddon.
