My 1st build and I'm unsure what to do with my video card power connection, could someone please help me?

Card: EVGA 512-P3-N841-AR GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-620HX

A) There's a 6 pin connector on the end of the card. They provide you with a short "Y" cable - 6 pin on the lone end and 2 molex connectors on the dual end (with only 3 wires in each connector). I take it they want me to attach two molex connectors from my PSU?

B) The PSU comes with a cable labeled PCI-E. It has a 6-pin connector on one end and a 6-pin connector PLUS a small two pin connector on the other end. Interestingly, the card also has a corresponding 2-pin connector near the 6-pin connector.

Can/should I use my PSU cable instead of the "A" approach above?

What is the 2-pin connector and should I use it too?

I'm sorry if all this seems incredibly stupid and newbie but the documentation that came with the EVGA is just horrible.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Use the "B" approach, the 2 pins are for graphics cards that require a lot of energy. I'm pretty sure an 8800 GTS G92 512mb does not use an 8-pin PCIE connection. Use the 6-pin.

Agreed use B

With that PSU there are 'hypothetically' 3 separate 18A 12v rails (although Johhnny Guru 's review said its one combined 54A rail), so its better to isolate your VGA card from the other rails.

Also, generally the less connectors the better.
