Dude a E8400 can OC to 4GHz easily. The extra cache should boost your performance a bit. Plus the extra 800MHz wouldn't hurt at all.

If its in good condition then yes. Its a great deal. Thats just the cost of the e2160 + $50 bucks, not too shabby.

Is it an E4800 or E8400? If it's an E4800 (does that exist?) then it will be a smidge faster but definately not worth upgrade to from what you are currently running.

It should be a bit faster and run cooler when OC'ed like your E2160 as it is based on Pneryns 45nm I believe. It will be replacing the E4400 If I am correct and will have 2x the cache at least.

2000 or 4000 are about the same

I don't think the E4800 exists, and if it does, it's probably a 65nm cpu. If it is, it's not worth the exchange.
