I am upgrading my Graphics Card but can't decide which of these to choose:

Sparkle - NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800GTX PCI-E 768MB W/DUAL DVI-I
XFX nVidia GeForce 8800GTX - 768MB - PCI-E
Gigabyte® NVIDIA® GeForce 9800GTX, 512MB 256Bit GDDR3

Any Advice?

9800GTX its newer. the older 768MB cards perform better if apps and games are highly dependent on video ram speed and such. Mostly though you should go with the 9800. It consumes less power as well.

Don't buy old man!

I agree. But I still like the power savings and you know that 9800GTX will OC like a Banshee.

More Easier?

Hi Guys

Thanks for the advice. I think I am going for the 8800 GTX as most articles I read the 8800 GTX outperforms the 9800 GTX

If the Card do start to 'age' I might just get another one and SLI it.

Thanks anyway.

Yeah like a fine wine. haha.

I rather have a 550w PSU form a single 9800GTX than need a 650-700W for a single 8800GTX. (don't pick that statement apart I know it is probably not totally accurate.) But you catch my drift.

if you are running super high rez + AA + AF 8800gtx
Super rez and not soo much AA + AF 9800GTX

The 9800's have more power but the limited amount of memory effects it in some situations.

The power use is lower, but its not too bad when you factor in the performance of both cards. about 100 watts for the 9800gtx and about 132 for a 8800gtx.

With the price of the 9800gtx does offer better performance per dollar. Its a shame that nvidia did not give the 9800's the memory the deserve.

Yeah i think we were all upset about that.
