DVD Drive not turning on

First, I didn't know which place to plug in the cables, since it came with SATA cables and my old one was an IDE.

I just plugged it into one of the 8 SATA ports that comes on the Mobo I bought: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128387

So I tried plugging in my old IDE dvd drive and installing the drivers for it, well that didn't work!

So my issue is that the dvd drive wont even turn on when everything is plugged in.

Am I not plugging in the cables in the correct place? I've never had a SATA dvd drive before...

Are you saying you're having issues with your old drive, your new drive, your old motherboard, or your new motherboard? Sorry it isn't clear.
