Installing video cards in SLI

Last response: in Systems

I'm going to start putting together a new computer tomorrow. I've built one before, but in this build, I'm going to install two, 8800GTX video cards in SLI.

My question is, do I install one card first and get the computer all set up with the operating system before I put the second card in, or do I just install both at the start and then do the OS install?

Thanks for any help!

You can do either way, just make sure you put the SLI bridge on and load drivers for both cards, then after you load the drivers it should automatically detect the cards available for SLI, just click on "yes" or if that doesn't happen for some reason you can do it manually, in NVIDIA control panel under 3D Settings -> Set SLI Configuration, choose Enable SLI and you are set.
