Getting plastered on a Sunday afternoon..

... should be done at the pub and not at A&E :(

Yup... I crashed the Chipcycle, fractured my left Scaphoid and now have the joy of 5 weeks with a cast on my left arm.

One handed typing sucks more than Riser in an Ohio rest room. What sucks even more is receiving the large bag of new bike bits I ordered last week and knowing I can't use any if it for at least a couple of months.

More about : plastered sunday afternoon

August 3, 2010 12:01:44 PM

Unlucky, I remember hitting a drainage bump in a road stupidly not wearing a helmet, took the skin off my shoulder and a part of my ear as well as various scrapes. Was lucky not to have broken anything.

I hope you didn't stick your hand out did you? You may benefit from learning ukemi you know.

Did someone get a video of this? I haven't laughed my a$$ off in ages - so now would be a good time!

Yup... hand out, it was that or straight onto my shoulder. Bloody glad I had mitts on, I totally destroyed the palm on my gel ones doing it. 4 miles home one handed then taxi to casualty.

I'll send it over by BBM... oh wait... ;)

I thought you only did private patients... and dead things.

Chmip, never put your hand out. Whilst falling from a bike is not the easiest you may wish to land something like this.

A poor video but the best on short notice I could find. Note the arm position.

I see where you are coming from, I did do Judo for a short while as a kid. Issue was that one foot unclipped, the other didn't and ridding fixed the momentum lifted me clean up. Grabbed some brake to try and slow it but my weight was already well over the front. Bad news for me as it's the second time I've broken the same bone so risk of arthritic type issues in the future is higher.

I'm only interested in their privates, and the dead thing can be arranged..... :heink:
August 4, 2010 9:07:36 AM

Privates? Your servicing the army as well?
August 4, 2010 1:09:24 PM

His Father was some soldiers. [/Tom]

OK, This is now past funny. Been to the fracture clinic this morning and it's not good news. The break is a bad one and I'm now looking at a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks in plaster plus a very high likelihood of surgery.. add on the physiotherapy and I might possibly be able to go for a swim by my birthday in January.

Right now I'd trade Winggys cc bill for a working wrist :-(

August 6, 2010 12:16:46 PM

Screw that (wrist).

Chimp, just your other hand :)

Serioulsy though that is a long time, you need some of that special powder used in karate kid.
August 7, 2010 11:24:28 AM

I thought 'special' powder was more of a Tom thing..??

He certainly gave me a 'special' deal on those money trees.
August 7, 2010 5:41:58 PM

How are those paying off for you?

August 7, 2010 9:54:20 PM

I expect them to sprout any day now. Tom hasn't been around so I can't buy his extra-expensive fertilizer, but I'm sure his promise of a good crop of fresh crisp fifties is good.
August 7, 2010 10:00:32 PM

I heard they only flower bi-centenially. I hope that was just a rumour.
August 8, 2010 7:13:37 AM

That would be consistent with my sex life :(
August 8, 2010 8:17:35 AM

I could get more action than you with one arm strapped across my chest in a sling...

In fact I'm just off out on the date to prove it :-)

You know chimp, I can be pretty sympathetic at times. *wink, wink*
August 8, 2010 2:08:55 PM

Oh you big dirty pair of queers.

So can my date. *wink, wink* :sol:
August 8, 2010 6:10:10 PM

You know, at least I don't go for the sympathy shag.

Mainly because my missus has no sympathy for me :(

...*rocks back and forth in 7 series leather seat*...
August 9, 2010 4:03:14 AM

Just put lotion on. We don't want burn marks on that so called leather seats.
August 9, 2010 9:51:16 AM

...*it rubs the lotion on its skin*...
August 9, 2010 1:04:57 PM

How did you think I got that unusual leather for the seats of my 7 series?
August 9, 2010 1:38:05 PM

Lots a baby Jewish wales??
August 9, 2010 2:41:49 PM

I vaguely recall something about Nazi's and posting...
August 9, 2010 3:43:00 PM

Actually, I just skinned 1% of Oprah's arse.
August 10, 2010 6:39:05 AM

Fantastic, there is nothing better than a Manc's misery to cheer up a Scouser.

Vok, why do we have to wait until Sunday for battle to commence? It's just not right I tells ya.

Stranger, special kids should never be without their helmet.

Good morning WinDing.

The trees will sprout shortly.

Hope this helps.

Tom.
August 10, 2010 8:20:42 AM

Next week this time I will send you tampax or kleenex. Whichever you prefer due to the hiding that will be given by us to you lot.

Best Regards,
V

Good morning Tom

I do hope those money trees start yielding soon. I have my eye on that quite attractive new Jag XJ.

Hope this helps.

Starting next week I'm sure my fellow knuckle draggers will be experiencing a similar state of elation most weekends..

I'm a rather easy guy to please so it is of little consequence what you send. Though I'd much prefer that you delivered it in person.

This has nothing to do with the fact that you are the only Gooner left that I know who hasn't received a slap yet.

The positive side for us is that if an on form, full strength, Arsenal team can't break us down with only ten men on the pitch, then we are doing just fine.

Granted, Reina ****** up at the last min. We both know that was just one of those things that happen sometimes, and nothing to do with being under pressure and unable to cope.

Now time for a quick shower and down to the ale house for a few scoops and watch a bunch of Toons twat some Mancs.
August 17, 2010 8:55:14 AM

Ummmm. We weren't on form or full strength. Probably 80% I recon.

We'll see next time around. Ya'll played well given your predicament. You'll still finish below us though.
August 17, 2010 4:43:36 PM

There is more chance of Wingy's money trees flowering than you finishing above us this season.

Tom.

August 18, 2010 5:46:02 PM

Only if I lived in a country with a lower average IQ than one of Wingys bum grapes.
August 18, 2010 9:42:38 PM

Oy! You leave my aching 'roids out of this.
August 20, 2010 11:54:34 AM

August 20, 2010 1:33:25 PM

Try the taste test and then you can tell us.
August 20, 2010 5:54:06 PM

mmmm... garlic bread. :D
August 20, 2010 6:11:14 PM

Yep, those are definitely the bunny's malformed knackers.
August 22, 2010 8:38:12 PM

I don't know why everyone insists on poking fun at my bunny's imperfect plonker.
August 23, 2010 6:06:05 PM

Like Bunny like Wingding...
August 23, 2010 6:26:47 PM

Ain't nothing wrong with my manhood. Except for the stench, offensive boils and yellowish discharges, of course.
