Anyone found a stable OC for the 965 over 4.0 ghz?

I am able to post at 4.3 - 4.5 but i get BSoD whenever I start P95. What's the deal?

Im running a GTZ with a extreme 360 rad. My temps are under control, but I just cant find a stable setting.

Also, any luck with trying other voltage settings? ie NB, SB, CPU PLL, etc?

My patience is running thin, which is a bad thing for my gear...

Thats why the core i7 920 is the optimum processor... it can reach 4 ghz with your hardware... AND have the same performance... your 965 simply won't go over 200 mhz more than that... basically no improvement will be found with that increase... basically saying that you wasted 1000+ $ for the same performance of 300+ $.... if you actually kept all your hardware at stock clock the 1000$ hardware would make sense, but for enthusiast over clockers its a waste of money

If you really wanna try to get it stable set cpu pll up to about 1.6 and the NB to 1.5 - 1.6 (1.6 if you have it WCed too) SB doesn't do anything for overclocking

Mine is stable with RAM @1.65, CPU@1.31ish, and 133*30 for 4GHz. I haven't tried much past that yet.

Of course, I've yet to find a CPU limited app that runs slow even at 3.7GHz or so, so I'm not concerned.

I have a hard time believing that to be true.... I have seen some insane numbers with ss and ln2, but I think all the 'pros' are too busy to be messing with WC OC's. If there were, we'd know exactly how to reach 4.2+ghz numbers.

I guess I am left to do it on my own.

I built myself a SS phase changer, so now I feel all tingly inside as his 920 can't touch my 965 now. Furthermore, when I sell my 965 at a 200 dollar loss and get the 975 for $1k, there will be now more 920's in my rear-view mirror....

This is total bullshit and you know it. First of all the 965 has an unlocked multiplier and its QPI is double that of the 920. The 965 has 4.80 GT/s. Secondly I don't know how you have come by the idea that the 920 is exactly the same just because you could never afford one so you make yourself think it is just as good. The 965 has a much higher over clocking potential too. The same goes for all those other 920 n00bs who think it is the same as getting the 965. Know your facts before you say bullshit like that.

Maybe you should learn about Central processing Units first. Because it can easily be oced to 5.20 or much higher.
