I don't Know where to post this so here we go.

I have an old gateway 450ROG with a failed hard drive.
I went to purchase a new hd from the store came home and replaced the old one. When I go to load the the os all I get a notice that states I may need to run the manufactures cd. This is the problem I don’t have the CD. On top of that the Bios does not even see the drive. Could someone give me some instruction on of to go about fixing this system.
