Hi Guys
I have a couple of questions. Some might seem obvious, but I would like to confirm anyways.
First up, my specs:
AMD 5400+ BE @ 3+gHz + Coolermaster Hyper TX2
Biostar TF570 Sli + Thermalright HR05 Sli
Radeon 4870 1G
Corsair TX650
OCZ Reaper DDR2-1066 2 X 1G + OCZ Fatality DDR2-1066 2 X 1G (4G total)
Samsung 2232GW @ 1680x1050
Win XP 32 SP2
1)My board has a AM2 slot. Is there any chance that a AM2+ cpu would work in my system?
2)My mobo has 2 X PCI-E x16 1.0a slots. Specs state a "maximum theoretical realized bandwith of 4GB/s per direction, for an aggregate of 8GB/s totally" on the PCI-e x16.
The 4870 specs states a memory frequency of 3.6GB/s (900MHz). Will this mean that the 4870 will run at optimum bandwidth in my board, or do I need to compare the PCIe speed with another bandwidth rating on the card? Will the PCI-E x16 1.0a slot be a bottleneck in my system?
And will my benches improve if I install Vista with DX10
3) In CPUz my memory - in the memory tab - shows as PC2-5400 even though I installed PC2-8500? And the frequency cuurently shows around 450MHz (900 effective, right?). Should I slow the mem down? Speed it up? How? In Sandra, the bandwidth shows to be 10500MB/s, but its only rated for 8500MB/s.
4) What shoulmy 3Dmark06 score be? Is 11393 good, or ok?
