Hello guys.

I'm planning to build my first computer but I'm looking for a CPU under 150 euro's. (150 euro's = 231,58500 American dollars )

So I found the following CPU's:
-Intel E7200
-Intel E6750
-Intel E8200

I'm going to overclock my CPU and it must reach 3,6 Ghz at least.
I will use my computer for gaming, movies (HD),etc.
Which CPU should I choose?

Thank you for helping.

I would say at least E8400 if you're looking for a 3.6Ghz overclock. Both E6750 and E8200 only sport 7x multiplier, therefore you must achieve at least 515Mhz in FSB to obtain an overclock of 3.6Ghz. This puts enormous stress on the chipset, as well as the RAM, and may ultimately significantly reduce the lifetime of your hardware.

However, you can probably get 3.2Ghz easily on E8200, which is arguably the next best thing.

But the E8400 is around $200 USD, so I would think you could find the E8400 inside of your budget.

In my country (Holland) the price of an E8400 is high. So an E8400 is out of my budget. If I would buy an E8400 I must lower my budget for MoBo,GPU,RAM and so on.

The cheapest E8400 cost 258 USD in holland.

Is there any particular reason you require an overclock to 3,6 GHz?  Perhaps you can find another source for an e8400 that gets it down into your budget.

i had an e6750, and ran it at 3.5 with 1.3 volts.  it's a great cpu.  Truth be told, you won't find a whole lot of difference between any of them in real-world scenarios.  You'll be fine with whatever you choose.  You'll want to have a mobo capable of high fsb.

btw, the 6750 has an 8x multiplier, not 7, so you only need a 450 bus speed, or 1800fsb to reach 3.6

send me a private message, i still have my 6750.  I was planning on putting it into another build, but i'd rather help someone out.

E7200 9.5 multiplier. 3.6 no problem.

If I would pick the E7200 I'd save 50 euro.
But which CPU is the best @ 3,6 Ghz E6750 VS E8400 VS E7200.
I think that the E8400 is the best then de E7200 and then the E6750.

I'd go with the e7200, wait a minute: I already did, it gets here tomorrow. 3mb of cache is plenty, that extra cache isnt woth the extra price.

From reviews I've seen the e7200 can go 4.0-4.5 on air. The ES samples look like C0 stepping and the OEM chip I got is supposed to be M0 stepping which is cooler and can OC better.

I plan on 3.8-4.0. Tomorrow I will see what she can do. I'm gonna try a lapped Arctic freezer 7 with arctic silver 5 for cooling.

I've only seen 4GHz or higher a couple of times and that was with really high voltage. Most review sites get between 3.5 - 4.0GHz, there does seem to be a bit of variability in the overclocking of tese chips. That being said, I agree its the best value amongst the options listed here.

with 231,58500 American dollars you could get the Intel Celeron Dual Core E1200 bump the FSB up to 395,687 & easily reach 3.6
