They need the data on it. Back up your data, get WD's diagnostic tools and test. If that shows errors, RMA the drive.

It'll make a nice paper weight, or you can remove the cover and turn it into a nice wall decoration. Download the Ultimate Boot CD, burn an ISO, then try their drive formatting tools. May or may not help.
