So i finally bit the bullet and order all the bits and bob for my new system. Apparently they have just been delivered so i just wanna finish work and get home!
Since this is my first build does anyone know of a 'How to put everything together and install the OS etc' guide for idiots?
I'm pretty confident with all the hardware and although this is my first build i have upgraded pretty much everything in my old system at one time or another so hopefully no unexpected problem there. I'm more concerned with sorting out the BIOS, installing the OS etc sice i have never had do do that sort of thing before.
Basically im just looking for something i can refer to if i need it, to point me in the right direction.
I basially just looking for a quick guide of what order to put things together in etc, nothing too complex. I dont think i will need it, but id rather be prepared and have it to hand in case i do run into problems - guess im just being a little over cautious.
Im more apprehensive about the software side of things. Once i get things together and press the power button for the 1st time what do i do next. Do i need to configure BIOS, go straight to installing OS, do i test the memory before doing any of this???
I just presumed there would be some sort of rough guide kicking about somewhere. If there isnt not to worry, i will post back if and when i need the help with any specific problem (hopefully i wont need to).
I would configure the BIOS and mess around with the boot order of your drives so that your first boot device is the DVD drive that should contain the OS install disk.
