I tried to upgrade the hard drive on my Sony vaio sr laptop, i installed the new hard drive but my computer would not recognize it, so i put my original hard drive back in and now the laptop does not recognize it too. The connections look perfectly fine. what did i do, and is there any way to fix it? thanks

You might have to enable the hard disk in your BIOS. Can you access your laptop's BIOS?

I know it may sound odd but enable sata and make sure that the harddrive is not set as slave. If both fail I would rma it.
