Why does it matter? It's not like you have to run at high resolution just because you use a big monitor.
yeah but with a big monitor if I run low res everything washes out, I hate that so much!
hahaha

It does? I haven't realized. Lol...
How big are you looking for?
| L1qu1d wrote : 24 - 32 inch |
Lol, that's gonna cost a fortune. What uses can you possibly have for something like that?
giving away my Tv, lol So i'm going for a 1 use TV/monitor

Lol, you should send me the TV.
Few people use large monitors and don't want high resolution, so first hand recommendations for this would probably be rare. Look through the list. It's gonna cost ya.

god damn it I hate this. lol why is it such a pain to buy a monitor

Most monitors that size will be high resolution. Your system should be able to handle 1920x1200 no problem. With the specs I have below I get by pretty well.
hmmmm I guess your right
well I'll look into it. Like dagger said, I could always lower the res or buy a second 9800 lol
(wallet shakes with fear)

| L1qu1d wrote : hmmmm I guess your right |
Your wallet should already shake with fear considering the prices of those monitors.
lol yeah but atleast my eyes will get some rest
this monitors makes mine bloodshot! Meh!

| L1qu1d wrote : lol yeah but atleast my eyes will get some rest |
It means it's time to go out and take a walk.
Well, monitors that size will have super high resolutions, however, If you buy and LCD TV with DVI it may have a more reasonable resolution. It won't work that great up close, though.
lol I take enough of those during the week, the weekend I just relaxing at home
away from work and school.
I feel like playing R6 Vegas 2, but I also wanna play COD4 hmmmmmmmm

Have them on dual monitors and play both at the same time.
lol, yeah that would make me feel better about my comp:|! lol

Hey L1quid check out this one out if you get a chance.
Acer P243WAID 24IN Lcd Monitor 1920X1200 3000:1 2MS Vga DVI-D Hdmi Glossy Screen High Gloss Black
It cost less than 400$.
alright deal
thnx!

we all have opinions. friend bought a DCL (newegg top rated), i got a viewsonic, and an envision, All driven by the same system i loaded up games and movies and things, the thing is that they all look different, not necessarily better than one another. Your own calibrated eyeball is the answer. Go to the local electronics store and take note of what display looks nicest to you, match that to the resolution you want, and least latency.
DVI is the way to go, for clarity, the rest is in the air to choose a specific model.
Saw that you live in Ontario just like me! You can check prices here.

Yeah, surprisingly Acer does make some very decent monitors
http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowPro [...] VIA+TV#tab
Check that one out,:
response time: 8ms
res:1366 x 768
Contrast:1200:1 (static on screen, not dynamic like samsung and LG etc that boast 5000:1 and turn out at 800:1 or 1000:1 actual contrast)
Viewing angle: 178 degrees
Size: 26"
All in all very decent at around:
€500,- // $789.149 // £399.724

heh, no he is right. I play my games at 1920x1200 on my 24" with a wimpy OC E2180 and a 8800GT. Might as well get your moneys worth out of that system. In fact anything below 1680 and your kind of wasting your money with so much horsepower to be utilized.
thnx thats the kindest thing any1 ever said about my system, tear tear lol

If price is no object this will do 4096X2160 on your wall or in a movie theater.

Dont have a big wall and price is an object lol I had to sell couple of pS3 games to buy the 9800 GX2 lol now I'm selling my limited edition Dreamcasts for a montior

Ok for a 24" 1920 res I LOVE my Westinghouse L2140NM although I did have a bad experience with my first one and it does have known problem I will make you aware of. The first one I got had 2 problems.
1) Whenever the backlight was turned down lower than 97% the monitor would make a noticeable hum.
2) It had a annoying screen door effect on the top right side.
Problem was the monitor was very affordable, $350 After rebate and Bestbuy sells them quite cheap too, and so nice so I gave it another try.
The next one I had still had the buzzing below 97 brightness but the screen door effect was gone. The good part is I always use the backlight at 100% (cmon' don't be a girl it really isn't blinding bright like half the people say) so all my problem were solved and it looks amazing, colors are so vivid compared to other monitors I see. Also any high def console looks insane on it. It has tons of connections: composite, component, HDMI, VGA. I use a DVI~HDMI plug for my computer.
Go with a 19 or 22 inch 2 ms LG 3000:1 monitor, i love the picture so much!
hmmmmmmm I'm still thinking because a monitor is one of those thnigs that I don't change for a while
Unlike my specs
lol
