I am building a computer for a friend, and he is using a xfx 750a motherboard (am2+). My question is, will a thermaltake ruby orb fit properly on the mother board? He is using an AMD phenomx4 9850

Some TT air coolers are not terrible. Maybe the OP can get one for $7, you never know.

How am i meant to know for sure whether it will fit on that board. since it is quite a small cooler it will most probably fit, but you never know with northbridge heatsink clearance.

Seriously, name one TT cooler that comes anywhere near the price/performance of HDT coolers, ACF7P or the TRUE's.

same as coolermaster and gigabyte coolers. they all suck. stick to cases and mobos...
