External tv from laptop is green tinge

Hello,
have a HP laptop which has worked fantastic for four years. It never goes on the internet as it is used purely for performing. It gets connected to an external moniter. However, when connecting today the moniter has become very strange in colour albeit readable but has a green tinge. I have tried connecting the moniter to another laptop and this works fine with the correct colour. Could it be the settings on the old laptop even these have never been touched. Any advise would be appreciated

More likely hardware (integrated graphics) problem.

Are you using the same cable when you test it with another laptop?

I could be the cable (Especially if its VGA) or damage on the physical connector on the laptop.

Try a new cable or another video port if you have it. Preferably HDMI or DVI
