I looking to buy a new graphics card.

I'm a little sick of nVidias crappy Vista 64 drivers for my 7900GS, seeing that nvidia drivers cause 70% of vistas crashes, it isn't just me. so, I'm thinking an ATI 3800.

will I have fewer crashes? will I actualy be able to play Wicher?

I know everyone says gotta get nVidia because they perform better. I'm looking more at the imeasurables.

are thier more differences between the 3850 and the 3870 apart from clock speed?

What is your budget?

8-series and 9-series Nvidia cards don't have the same driver problems in Vista you seem to be experiencing.

I'd say check a little deeper, I've heard issues for both companies in Vista 64.

Supposedly the latest nV betas offer some bug fixes for V64, but not sure about the ATis recent 8.3s.
