I'm trying to build a computer around the $1000 price range. I plan to do some overclocking, although I'm not that big of an overclocker. I plan on purchasing the TRUE later for my CPU, could anyone suggest where to buy one? I'm also considering doing SLI sometime down the road as well.

CPU: Q6600 2.4GHz $200

GPU: MSI 8800GTS 512MB $200 after MIR

Case: Antec P182 $130

Ram: OCZ 2x2GB SLI Ready Edition PC2-6400 5-4-4-15 $62 after MIR
I'm not too sure with memory. Would this be good for some moderate overclocking?

HD: Samsung 750GB SATAII $115

Optical Drive: Samsung DVD burner SATA with lightscribe OEM $31

PS: Corsair 550W $60 after rebates
I'm assuming 550W will suffice. I've some good things about this PS. Just curious, how much power would I need if I decided to do SLI?

Mobo: Asus Maximus Formula $260

Total: $1058

the memory should be fine, but if you don't have a 64 bit OS, you might want to go for a 2X1Go kit

I've never really liked big capacity disk drivers, maybe a 2X320Go would be a better idea (if one should go down, you'd have a spare and you wouldn't loose everything informationwise)

as for the motherborad, I'd rather go for a P5K E or P5K Prenium
considering SLI is not a very good option: you're better of selling your card and getting a new one rather than ading another in most situations

I dont have a problem with 1 big drive, I've never had a drive failure myself.
even with a 32 bit OS, I'd say get 2x2gigs like you want, but I'd also suggest a 64bit OS.

SLI is a bit of a waste, and your MoBO is a bit of overkill.

Thank you both for the help. I think I might switch out the motherboard for the Asus P5K-E. I don't think I need all the features of the premium. Is the premium worth the extra?

no i would say.just get the P5K-e.its weird sometime the premium model dont do as well as the slightly lower mobo in the same range in overclocking.if you want to do SLI i would recommend getting a 700W PSU just in case you might want some more storage(HDDs) in the future and upgrade to more powerful graphics cards.

Ok thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go with the P5K-E unless anyone else has any suggestions. Also, does anyone know a good place where I can get the TRUE? It seems to be out of stock everywhere, except from places I've never heard of.
