Well I am not sure about how to compare the Indoor FPS in oblivion as I dont have the game, but I do know that outdoors is where it counts. Alas, maybe the problem arises from those drivers being in beta. I am not sure as I still use the non beta version. 169.21 I suppose, but I will switch up to the new ones when they are no longer in beta and usually recommend the same to everyone else unless there is a problem that needs to be fixed. So I would try to other drivers if I were you. Hope this helps!
Dostanio, that means that it is not supported WHQL driver recommended with windows. I have the 174.74's on my 8800gts 512 and it works great. I noticed a huge differance when watching old DVD movies because it has contrast enhancment and color. I use a Blue Ray player and makes a big improvment. Also with your 8800gts oblivion should run about 90+ frames indoors with maxed out settings, outside is around 60+. but that all depends on your CPU and HArdware as well.

So does that mean i can't install the WHQL drivers ever?
No it's just that the 174.74 drivers are beta for the GTS and are not WHQL (for now). You will be able to update to official drivers later when (if) they are released. I strongly suggest using the 174.74 drivers, they give a really good boost in performance compared to the official 169.25.
