i dont know what happened

now i have on my screen the following text:

PXE-E61:Media test failure, check cable

your computer is not booting because either

1) the hard disk is not detected
2) the hard disk IS detected but there are no bootable operating systems present.

is the bios detecting the hard disk? are you able to boot from a liveCD like Ubuntu for example and examine the contents of the hard disk?
