Hello, all. I'm new here and have unfortunately put myself in the position
of needing to make a decision ASAP. It's been a while since I researched
video gear and, man, has it gotten complicated!
I'm returning a Mitsu 50" DLP* for a smaller (probably 42" ) TV, probably
plasma because of the price premium for LCD and possible response-time
issues. Since I'm returning the a set to this shop, the easiest brand to buy
is LG because that's mostly what the shop sells as far as TV 's (not plain
monitors) are concerned. The ones in the shop look nice (at least until
compared to the Runcos!). I searched around a bit (here and the web) and
what I mostly found was off-handed statements that LG wasn't really worth
looking at.
What's the poop on the LG's? I'd like a very nice HDTV plasma or LCD set
(not just monitor) in the $3,500 range. Opinions?
TIA
* The 50" was really too big for the 12 foot viewing distance. But even at
15 feet the pixelization was too weird. This was mostly true on DSS PPV
movies, but visible on DVD's, too. I know all technologies have their
quirks, but I just couldn't watch the DLP.
