Hey everyone.Although I consider myself a decent IT tech,I'm self taught and have no experience with Intel cpu and how to overclock them so they run stable.I currently have an E7300 on a p5ql MB with p43 chipset.I have an E8500 coming and I'll be installing it in a P5N-D MB.Now the p5n-d mb says it runs 800 fsb,and although I do have 4x1 gig sticks of ddr2 800 memory,I also have 2x2 gig crucial ddr2 1066.Now first question; Can I run the 1066 memory on the p5n-d board?2;What changes in the bios do I have to make for stable oc'ing on bothe the p5ql and the p5n-d.Sorry all,I'm still learning the game and although I've had great success overclocking AMD cpu,I've virtualy no experience with Intel.Thankyou for any help you can provide.I'm using an aftermarket fan and heatsink.Better than the stock that came with it.

Raise the FSB and Multiplier. Most people were succesful with getting 4.0GHz on stock with the 8500.
Are you talking about the E7300 or E8500? Your thread title is confusing me..

Either or.If intel is anything like amd, then what works for one intel cpu should work for the other as bothe are 45nm c2d.I hope.Grinz.
