I still need:

Monitor (would like something around 24")
I need whatever it takes to share a DSL connection between (2) computers - either hardwired or wireless. Any suggestions in this are are welcome - I'm new to the networking side of things.

Thanks again.

That old g80 8800gts is weak. You should get a g92 8800gts. The factory overclocked version cost only $230, $200 after mail-in rebate. Check benchmarks, the performance difference between the 2 is quite big. Well worth the price, especially considering you're dumping $500 on a huge monitor.

For ram, this is a good one at 1066mhz, only slightly overclockable

800mhz, highly overclockable, go up to 1066mhz easily

Thanks guys. Looks good - I like the video card you suggested. Any thoughts on the mobo or case?

On that case - would you add more fans and if so - where?

One more question - the case has an eSata plug - could it be used to run an external SATA drive for Booting purposes? Instead of a dual-boot system I would like to run XP on one drive and Vista on another - swapping the cable externally to use Operating System I want. Thoughts?

Case: Coolermaster is o.k., but the P182 is superb. I added a fourth fan blowing on 2 HD's, which everyone says is unneccessary. Gigabyte P35 is great. Check specs for eSata. Mine came with an eSata PCI card to add 2 external lines for other HD's, DVD's, etc. Port also has an external power connector. The following is great ram, uses Micron D9 I believe and is CAS 4:

Xigmateck is one of the best for the price. I bought one, but had trouble with the plastic push pin mounts to the mobo. I then found out they had a bolt-thru kit with back plate, which is totally secure. See if you can get that sent with it. And do check prices available. I got stuff a few things at Excalibur.com. Buy.com, tigerdirect. zipzoom, etc also have good prices.

i just bought the p182, but i havent recieved it yet.
i bought an extra 120mm fan i am going to put on the front panel in order to improve intake. i dont know if its necessary or not, but it supposedly improves the air flow and temperatures. its just 10$ so i figured why not.

Dagger: I don't mind spending the extra $100. Is it worth it for the performance increase b/w the P35 an X38?

OgabOga: Post some thoughts once you get it. Thanks.

With the 28" monitor, you might have some FPS issues depending on what games and settings you play at. one 8800GT will not be enough to run most new games on 1900x1200 on high settings with decent framerates. If you plan to play things like CoD4/Crysis/TF2 on good details on that monitor's native resolution... I would suggest a higher end card or get another for SLI.

I have two 8800GT in SLI w/ a little OC. They run stuff at phenominal speeds on my 22" @ 1650x1080. my CPU is bottlenecking them a little bit, but I am still messing around with higher clocks.

Also, I hope you plan on OC'ing the Q6600 (with the G0 im guessing you are)

I am building one too....

How about the Lian Li PC-60BPLUS II? I just got one and think it is awesome - all aluminum, very light, no fancy windows or lights (I don't like them but you may), real clean design - everything slides out and in real smooth and easy - real easy to set up mobo, cards, etc. out side the case and then slide it back in. Comes with 3 x 120mm and 1 x 80 mm fan - lots of cooling, very quiet.

I got the ZeroTherm BTF 90 - wanted quiet as much as cool. Almost got the Xigmatek.

I was going to get the 8800GT as well but took suggestions here to get a 8800GTS since my prime needs are for video editing, graphics and some light gaming.

Imo, its not worth the extra $100 unless you plan to do CrossFire or something similer. The P35-DS3x and P35-P5K-x boards are all good for OCing.

Final build looks good :).

Thanks all. One last thing - I've been reading a lot about the 7200.11 drives and also the Samsung F1 - which one is better?

Samsung F1 is based on 7200.11 technology, it is the fastest mainly due to platter size, cache size, firmware optimizations, etc.

Everything looks good. Imo, the PP&C 750 is kind of an overkill, but it's a very good PSU that should last you a long time.

As for as the P35 it overclocks very well i have 3 and unless your trying to get past 500Mhz FSB then no need for a X38 just to OC.
