I just bought a new pc from pcoption.co.uk i ordered it with no os on because i didn't want vista and have xp pro disks, I have installed xp pro and everything works except my geforce 8600gt, i get an error saying Device cannot start (code 10) when i look in device manager i have tried updating drivers etc but i can't get it too work.

Well as far as i know its a driver related problem so i guess you need to uninstall your drivers and start from scratch. Its to do with error mesages a lot of cards wheather its graphics /sound etc have a custom error message which would tell you what the problem is. In your drivers this custom "reason" Its acctually called a Fail reason string is missing so you get the windows default message.
Try using the disc drivers if you have a disc.

I have already tried installing the drivers it came with. Then i have uninstalled them and tried multiple other drivers none of them seem to work i just get the same error every time.
