Studio 14 hd plus patch

Using Studio 14 hd. Having problem with importing from VHS tape to Studio. Sound is off when I try to record tape and picture jumps. I uninstalled Studio and reinstalled it. Same problem. When I hook the VHS up to my tv. It runs just fine. So I know it is not the tape player. It only happens when I try to play & copy a tape. Can anyone please help.
