My friend facing lot of problem with 45nm processor E8200.
Lot of benchmarking required again for 45nm processor.

The problem in his words.

Major problem I faced is I am unable to run the Famous digidesign protools 7.3 in E8200 C2D, Which was a famous application for audio editing all over the world. Which will be used in the Movies , High-end audio recordings.

Others may get similar problems later, so better to wake up earlier

doesnt give us much to go on... is this a new system. If not was the e8200 the only thing added... too many varibles.

I always thought software problems were mainly OS based not hardware based. I know if you hardware does not support a feature of a program it wont run but the E8200 is the newest CPU out there and normally software has to catch up to hardware....

The e8200 is one of a new family of CPUs that requires an appropriate MB design and specific code in the MB's BIOS to support it. If the BIOS has not been updated with support for e8xxx CPUs, the CPUs will not work correctly.

If this is a new build or your friend has recently added or changed other system components, it could be a problem with those. Since much RAM sold these days is "pre-overclocked" (i.e. all DDR2 RAM sold to operate at a voltage higher than 1.9V), many people are having trouble with intermittent system errors due to memory errors. Your friend can download and run memtest86+ as a basic RAM functionality check.
