I have a ati x1900xt 512mb PCIe.What video card would be worth upgrading to.I don't play a lot of games anymore, but when I do play(vegas 2,fear,call of duty 4 etc...)I just want them to run smoothly.I'm not too anal about frame rate anymore.

List the rest of your system and include PSU and operating system and we will see what we can do

i suggest you wait for a month...the RV770s will be out by june...
I agree with this but if you cant wait then you have a good enough system to run pretty much any card out there. Best bang for the buck in single card performance at the min is probably the 8800GT, you can get some nice overclocked ones with non standard coolers for a reasonable price just watch how close in price you get to a GTS (G92)512mb as they are a better card still.
On the ATI side its going to be either a 3870 or a 3870X2.
I should have asked before sorry but what monitor size/res do you have ?
Mactronix
Ok thanks its just that if you had been using anything smaller it may have been overkill considering the X2 and the GTS.
I would still recomend waiting for the r700 series though.

i built a new PC in the middle of jan with an e8400.. reused my 7800GT.. waited for the 9 series and was not satisfied with performance, now i should wait another 2 months for a 4870 or whatever.. then another 2 months for GT200, then nahelahem or whatever will come out and kill my CPU... then holiday season and nvidia will make a GS/GTS rehash of their current card like they do every december
why wait ? i still cant play the latest games with max everything...and if i keep waiting i will never be able to enjoy my latest games
get what you need NOW and enjoy... besides a 8800gts512 can be had for a good price now
