It's a simple question. Will my Q9450 Retail/box be recognized by the Abit IP35 Pro motherboard? I will pay some guy to install the CPU and I need to know before that happens if he needs to update the BIOS before installing the processor. To avoid wasting time with something that might not work from the very beginning.
Short answer is yes the Abit IP35 Pro will work. I suggest you upgrade to bios version 16 as the latest is always the best. Version 14 will recognize the Q9450 but you will get false super high temp reading.

Even version 12 should recognize the cpu but again some things will not be correctly configured for cpu as this was at best a test bios for the yorkfield. If you have an older bios you will have to update the bios before installing the Q9450.
