P5K-E/WiFi-AP
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600
Antec 650w Turepower Trio
Crucial 2 x 2GB DDR2-800 CL4 Ballistix (BL2KIT25664AA804.000)
Zalman CNPS9500AT CPU Cooler
WD740ADFD - 74G, 10,000 rpm
WD1500ADFD - 150G, 10,000 rpm
Windows XP Pro SP2

This will be my third build. This one's for the office (no gaming/overclocking).

1. Do these components in combination make sense?
2. Is this memory compatible for this board?
3. Any build issues I should be aware of?

Thanks

Every thing should work. But why the Ballastix and the Raptors? I would consider those to be gaming grade parts. If not OCing get cheaper DDR2 800 from Corsair, Patriot, etc. Same with the cooler, unless you want a quiet cooler get some thing cheaper.

I agree, also i know you said this is an office build and so you don't need anything special for video i'm guessing; however, you didn't list a video card at all. don't forget one!

The Raptors confuse me, is there any reason that you want/require them? Do you need quad core for your office work? And you might want to consider a modular PSU if you're using so few parts, just to stop everything being cluttered, maybe at 500-600W too, it doesn't look like you'll need much if you've not got a greedy graphics card taking all the power.

What will you be doing at the office? Most office systems are built around maximum avalibility. That means no downtime.

Use an Intel Motherboard, The processor you picked with its fan, Regular Crucial memory is fine, Seagate 7200RPM hard drives in the ES series for its high MTBF, and A case like this one:

This is much more of an office build.

Sorry for the video omit...I run 3 Dell 1905Fp monitors for my investment work (financial planner) and will reuse my PNY NVIDIA Quadro4 NVS 400 card. Significant multi-tasking with 6-8 apps running all day Faster components just a preference and power supply is "insurance" from a previous bad experience with PS failure.

Based on what you said use the same spec I mentioned above and use a Q9450 processor on a Dp935DP board:

This motherboard has no onboard video so its a good choice. I just built a system last week with this Board, CPU, Memory (crucial), and chassis combination. Very nice system. This will handle pretty much anything you can throw at it.

You might as well get a 7200.11 HDD instead of the Raptors.

Yeh, the 7200.11 is really quick, but if you're set on Raptors, go for them, but the price between the 74GB and 150GB isn't that much is it? I don't see the point in getting different Raptors. If you want a fast one for your OS and vital space, get a single 150GB. Is the 74GB really required? You could get a super quick 7200.11 32MB drive at 500GB for that. Maybe not up to the speed of the Raptor, but you'd have one for all that stuff. I just don't see why you chose two different Raptors. Still, there's nothing wrong with that, curiosity mostly.
