Hello all,

First time in a while since I've posted on these boards and I need some help selecting a motherboard.

I have a E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz (which apparently is very popular with some people on here) and I'm not sure what kind of motherboard to go for.

I've been thinking about getting one capable of DDR3 -- is this wise at the moment?

If so, which motherboard should I opt for?

I prefer NVIDIA SLI capable, and I dont generally set up RAIDs. Price Range is from $100-$200.

Thanks for takin the time to read, and for any advice/help!

I just bought the E8400 myself and the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L $75

It is being replaced by an energy efficient version GA-EP35-DS3L $90

Both are limited to one graphics cards and 4 SATA connections. If you want more, with SLI capable, you will need to step up to a board costing $150 - $200. Do you want to pay the higher amount for that added capability?

DDR3 still costs considerably more than DDR2 and should only be considered by gaming enthusiasts with money to burn to get that added performance or maybe some people doing high end graphics work that can make it cost effective.
