I am getting quite regular blue screen crashes, that Win XP is telling me are hardware related crashes.

I selected the Asus P5DG2 MBd as it gave me the extra level of robustness and performance of RAID 0 and 1, using just two hard drives, with a 775 socket CPU, which seemed like a good upgradable path.

The P5GD2 is no longer available.

The issue I now have revolves around whether using Intel Raid was actually a robust decision.

If as seem highly likely I shall need to replace my MBd, it seems I may have to abandon the data on my two HD!

This raises some questions:

Is it actually as bad as that, ie, can I install a different replacement MBd, and save my data?

Secondly would that just be delaying the inevitable, as relying on the existance of south bridge ICH6R, needed for my data, is at best only short term?

What is a better, long term solution to maintaining a robust hardware solution to data retention, and the performance benefit of RAID 0 and 1?

Which MBd fit the above scenarios?

A supplementary is are some boards prone to drying out joints with 7x24 use?
