VPN / SOCKS proxy help!

Back story: Blizzard apparently banned my college's IP address for about 3 weeks thus far. I want my starcraft. My CD key is legit, i wasn't botting or hacking... GAH

Anyways. I setup a accept incoming connections on an old XP machine i have sitting at my house, works great when i can connect. Problem is that's once in a great while. I could even host on battle.net it was great.

The connection obliviously limits my total bandwidth to my house's upload, which isn't great but I'd rather have that than no battle.net.

Does anyone have and experience with the issue of being stuck at verifying user name and password when connecting. Its what happens to me every time virtually.

Also if anyone can recommend a good way to setup a SOCKS proxy then I'm all for it, but it needs to be compatible with vista 64.
