These are idle temps with an overclock to 3.2ghz and 1.24 vcore . Who is more accurate Speedfan, HW Cupid or Core Temp. Or none of the above. Please comment. Thanks!

That makes a whole lot of sense! Now why didn't i think of that. I guess its to early in the morning to be tinkering around with my new build.

I don't have mine yet, but I would think so.

Edit: If you're using the stock cooler, I imagine 50c is probably normal for 3.2.

dunny165,

As has been suggested by greenbrucelee, the temperature monitoring utility that you should be using for your Core i7 is Real Temp 2.90 RC2. The single best source of cutting edge Core i7 temperature information available anywhere on the internet can be found on the Real Temp thread over at XtremeSystems - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=179044&page=114 - Since Intel's most recent Developers Forum (IDF) in October, the author of Real Temp, Kevin Glynn, (unclewebb), has posted the latest Real Temp Beta releases for the Core i7 processors.

See the fourth post (#2829) in the above link to download Real Temp 2.90 RC2. If you'd like to read the Real Temp Documentation to learn about the unique features of this excellent utility, then click on the following link - http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ - If you have specific concerns with your Core i7 or Real Temp, then log on to XtremeSystems and post your questions. unclewebb is very active on the thread, and will directly answer your posts.

I've been corresponding with Kevin Glynn since he first developed Real Temp earlier this year, and as the author of the Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide - http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/221745-29-core-quad-temperature-guide - here at Tom's, I endorse Real Temp 100%. Real Temp is definately the utility of choice for the Core i7.

Hope this helps,

Comp :sol:

Thanks for the help! I'll download that tonight and see what my temps read. I can't wait until a few decent heatsinks come out for the i7.
