I have a red line on the right side of my monitor. I have connected my monitor to my laptop and proved that it is not the video card problem. Could that be a cable problem? I currently have a VGA cable connecting the monitor to the video card and I was thinking to change that to DVI?
On the side note, Does DVI offer better quality?

DVI should provide a little better quality. The red line could be caused by the cable, or it could be a problem with the monitor. Pretty easy to test, though, just get another cable and swap it out.
