Windows xp gone wrong, now just cursor

Hello,
I was in the middle of installing Windows XP. I said that a file was missing and would not go forward or backward. I had totally reformatted my harddrive due to issues I was having with it. Now, I want to restart my xp install and it won't let me. I am able to go into the boot sequence and select to boot from cd. After that all I get is a blank screen with a cursor in the top left corner. Can anyone help?

You might try cleaning the CD - the smallest scratch in the wrong place could cause this.[/#000ff]
